Cover letter
Dear Reader,
My name is Graham Simpson Ammons, and I am currently a Mass Communication student at Louisiana State University with a concentration in Public Relations while preparing for a future career in law. I created this portfolio to showcase my academic work, writing, and professional development as I continue working toward my long term goal of attending law school and entering the legal field.
Throughout my time at LSU, I have focused on developing the skills that will prepare me for success in law school and beyond. My academic experience has strengthened my writing, research, and analytical thinking, while also teaching me the importance of clear communication, organization, and attention to detail. I am particularly interested in the role that communication, persuasion, and critical reasoning play within the legal profession, and I continue to build these abilities through my coursework and personal growth.
The work included in this portfolio represents my individual effort and reflects my development as both a student and a future legal professional. Each piece demonstrates my ability to communicate ideas clearly, think thoughtfully, and approach challenges with discipline and purpose. As I continue my academic journey, I remain focused on strengthening my skills, gaining meaningful experience, and preparing myself for the responsibilities and challenges of a career in law.
Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio and learn more about my goals and progress. This portfolio represents an important step in my academic and professional journey as I continue working toward law school and my future in the legal field.
Sincerely,
Graham Simpson Ammons

About me
Graham Simpson-Ammons is a sophomore at Louisiana State University (LSU). He aspires to be a vital part of the Manship School of Communications while pursuing his law degree after undergraduate school. He’s already achieved academic accolades, making the dean’s and chancellor’s lists his first few semesters, and is on track for continued success. Serving as the recruitment chair for Beta Theta Pi for which he has attended conferences in Chicago, is a member of honors societies such as Alpha Lambda Delta and Gamma Beta Phi and is also in the 3+3 law program at LSU. Intramural football’s a hobby that Graham enjoys with close friends he’s made in school.
Graham lived in many places growing up–from Washington D.C., Atlanta, Las Vegas, Miami and Raleigh. This journey led him to develop his social and adaptive skills. A stranger is just someone Graham has yet to meet. Captivated by gaming, sports, NFL football, fashion, politics and law. He seeks professional and intern opportunities to help him grow in communications and legal knowledge. Although Graham is a fierce debater, committed to open-minded learning and persuasion of his beliefs. Other ideals that Graham values are integrity, a strong work ethic, taking accountability for one’s actions, respect for truth-finding and treating people with compassion.
